November 2022 Woodlands Timperley Final Service

Woodlands Timperley Final Service

On Sunday 6th November 2022, we held the final service at Woodlands Timperley, just over 50 years since the church building was officially opened.

It was a moving service, led by Revd Jonnie Hill, and in some ways a sad occasion, but it was also a celebration of the life of the church, in worship, witness, and service to the community, over the last 50 years.

During the service, members of the congregation, both in the building and joining us via Zoom, shared memories – happy, sad, amusing and inspiring – of their time at Woodlands.

Although the Woodlands building has closed, and the site is expected to be redeveloped in due course, this is by no means the end of the story, but offers hope of a “Renewed Beginning”, to borrow the name of the programme that Altrincham URC is now following.

We will be able to concentrate our effort and resources on mission activities based at the Trinity Hale site, while looking for more opportunities for outreach into the community.

Our well-established worship, social, and community activities at Trinity Hale will continue, and our popular Toddler Groups have relocated from Woodlands to the new church hall in Hale
