NEW: ECOFEST June 2026

We're very happy to announce ECOFEST, Altrincham URC's first Eco Festival, which will  offer a varied programme of environmental activities for church members, friends, visitors and the local community. For a programme which you can download and print, please click here or on the thumbnail picture.

The festival will start on Monday June 1st at 2pm with an afternoon tea/garden party including a blessing for our new garden bench. We’re hoping for good weather so we can enjoy the sunshine outside.

On Tuesday and Thursday, a choice of environmental arts and crafts activities will be available at the Art, Faith and Wellbeing Hub, forming an Eco Fest art display. This will include a colourful wall hanging - made using all upcycled, recycled and natural materials - which everyone will be invited to contribute to throughout the week.

On Tuesday between 2 and 4pm we have the Seasons of Connection workshop - you're invited to bring along a small item that represents a season to help us create a shared, sensory space as part of our Eco Festival. It could be something natural, handmade, or an everyday object. You’ll be able to take your item home afterwards - please click here or on the picture of the leaflet to learn more.

On Wednesday afternoon between 2 and 3.30pm you’re invited to join a short talk by Liz Delafield, Mission and Discipleship Mentor, on the environment and sustainability, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to share a favourite charity shop buy and/or an item of clothing you’ve owned for over 20 years - a green ‘show and tell’! We’ll also be holding an optional clothes swap – bring something you no longer wear and go home with a ’new-to-you’ item.

On Sunday 7th June between 2 and 3.30pm we’ll round the week off with a Fun Day Sunday for children and young families in the afternoon. We’ll need volunteers to help at craft tables at this event, so if you can assist please speak to Megan or Sue.

Finally, we’re delighted that the Bravura Choir, who rehearse at our church on Tuesday evenings, will give a concert ‘Spirit of the Sea’ on Saturday 13th June at 7.30pm, with proceeds going to our chosen charity The Cheshire Wildlife Trust.
