your own space for a couple of hours while your  children
enjoy a fast moving programme including craft, games, DVDs, drama, songs,
challenges and refreshments. This is a once a month kids' club for 4-11
years old where children of primary school age learn moral values in a
fun environment.The children who come to Saturday Seekers once-a-month kids’ club at Woodlands never have chance to be bored! They are kept so busy during the 2 hour programme that it’s time to go home before they know it! We thought you may be interested to read about a typical programme. Registration & Table Work: Craftwork related to the theme of the day. Welcome: Short chat with the children and welcome anyone new. Sing: A lively action song. Reminder of last time: Show a clue so the children can tell us what they remember from last time we met. Game/Challenge: Something related to the theme of the day. Bible Story/Message: Told in numerous ways using props or drama. Game/Challenge: Another fun activity related to the theme of the day. DVD: Short clip to reinforce the Bible story/message. Refreshments: Drink, biscuit and a chat with friends. Games: Lively games in teams or as a group. The children’s favourite is when we get the parachute out. DVD: A 15/20 minute film (usually a cartoon). Table Work: Children finish off the craftwork they started when they first arrived or they make something different. Prayer time: Creative prayer using props to link the prayer to the theme for the day and thanking God for all he does for us. Sing for parents: We usually sing with gusto the action song we sung at the beginning. Birthdays: Children sing to those who have had birthdays in the last month. Brought a Friend? Another welcome is given to new children and they, together with whoever has brought them, receive a present. Announcements and Good-bye: This is where we announce special Services and events that are coming up and encourage all families to join us. We also give the parents leaflets to take home which give details of the Services and events over the next month. You will agree that we have a very busy time each month. At the moment we have between 20 and 26 children attending and most of them arrive anything up to half an hour early so we think this is a clear indication of how much they enjoy coming! Saturday Seekers is open to any child of primary school age i.e. 4+ to 11 years. We encourage older children to stay on and act as helpers. We have three or four young helpers at the moment. |
