Flower Arrangers

TRINITY HALE FLOWER ARRANGERS
I am about to organise the church flower-arranging rota for 2010. The church has greatly benefited from the assistance and creative talent of members who help on special occasions, so if anyone would like to join the regular teams do please contact me.

The Church will be decorated for Christmas from 10.00 a.m. on Saturday 5th of December. All offers of help would be appreciated.

CHURCH FLOWERS........
The talented members of Trinity Hale U.R.C. Flower Guild brighten our weekly worship with beautiful flower arrangements greatly admired and appreciated by us all. Any one of us is also invited, should we so wish, to donate and arrange our own gift of flowers to mark a private and special occasion, and the flower arranging teams welcome gladly all such offers of help.
Beautifying the place of worship, and lifting our spirits, as they do, flowers remind us vividly of God’s wonderful works of creation and make us grateful for the faithful work of others.
Services over, church flowers and plants are then given as a token of the real care and affection felt by fellow-Christians for less fortunate members who are housebound and invalid, or sad and stressed through illness or bereavement.
Being visited, and receiving such gifts, brings a pleasing sense of being cared for, loved and valued, of being missed yet still warmly included in the life of the Church though for a time set apart.
( Such visits, and flowers, and the kindness I have myself received during periods of ill-health this year, have cheered me on many occasions and I feel blessed indeed by the friendship offered by so many kind people. I thank you all very sincerely.)
Sterling service in this area of the Church’s work has been given over many years by a succession of kind thoughtful people, ministers and congregations alike, making themselves available to carry out such duties.
Now more volunteers are urgently needed to continue the good work.
Men as well as women are urged to join in this labour of love.
Two ‘flower visits’, or even three, on occasion, are undertaken each week - on Sunday or Monday preferably, while the flowers are still fresh and pretty, and it would be wonderful if enough people came forward so that a rota might be arranged whereby each pair of helpers need be called upon only once every four weeks. Can this thing be?
I know many people in our Church are already doing great and small works faithfully and well.
The more helpers there are, the less onerous any task will be, and the greater our sense of fellowship in sharing it.
Many hands make light work when we all turn to help.
Some people may feel shy of undertaking home visits. You need not be apprehensive or doubtful of your reception - you are visiting a fellow Christian, a friend.
Neither the visit, nor indeed the conversation, need be very long - the sick are easily exhausted. For many people real comfort can be offered, and found, in companionable silence, with just a few sincere and friendly words. You will find it all gets easier with practice.
So ....... Please, please give some thought to taking a small share of this important and rewarding part of Church life.
